Emilio Dimitri, professionally known as HLZ (formerly 1/2 of legendary Need For Mirrors), has blessed us with “Roadblock”; the massive, nothing short of impressive debut single taken from his highly anticipated debut LP titled “All My Life”, forthcoming on Metalheadz and will be released early this May. This tune does not disappoint, but then again, when has HLZ ever let us down?
“Roadblock” is a seriously dope tune featuring that signature HLZ flavor we all know and love, and as always, I’m here for it. Starting off with a Reggae/Dub influenced intro, this tune builds with subtlety. Don’t be fooled! “Roadblock” is really just a big, bad, militant roller that has been decimating dance floors for the past year. This tune drops in with aggressive drum breaks paired with dark, growly basslines, accented with vocal samples that move everything along. DJs, this is the perfect weapon to have at your disposal for your next gig, don’t get caught without it.
HLZ is a personal favorite of mine; he’s a master of his craft and is a true innovator, “Roadblock” is a perfect example of this artistry and gives us a quick glimpse into what’s to come with the forthcoming “All My Life” LP.
